Commercial Analyst / Management Accountant - Barnsley

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting a Commercial Analyst / Management Accountant for successful manufacturing business in Barnsley.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will work as part of a cross-disciplinary team and is central to the effective operation of the company. The role helps to improve business performance by providing timely and relevant information and analysis to the management team in order to make informed decisions that contribute to the effective operation of the business.

Key tasks include:-
Accurate and timely provision and communication of routine weekly and monthly management information
Collection, collation, and analysis of production data
Production of detailed Gross Margin information
Commercial and manufacturing variance analysis /reporting
Assistance with detailed budgeting and forecasting of all elements of Gross Margin, and also with factory overhead costs
Assistance with the provision of a comprehensive decision support service to the Sales and Operations functions
Product costing and commercial analysis - existing and new products
Cost improvement projects: identification, implementation; and monitoring
Ad hoc analytical projects
Maintenance at all times of strong working relationships across departments - with clear, effective and timely communication to all levels being vital.

Person specification:
The ideal candidate will possess the following key attributes, skills, and experience:-

CIMA part qualified or equivalent with sound financial and commercial acumen and strong interpersonal skills
Advanced MS Excel user with the ability to produce high quality models to enhance business performance
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to gain insight from large volumes of complex raw data and to present information clearly, concisely and to tight deadlines
Previous management accounting experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
Practical experience of standard costing and calculation/ analysis of material usage and price variances
Experience of MS Access preferable
