EMEA Regional Controller – Guildford

£60,000 - £65,000

Our client is seeking a Regional Controller for the EMEA region. 2i Recruit is working in partnership with this listed business, as they look to secure a new Regional Controller for a growing regional division. This individual will have a wide and international remit, working alongside the regional CFO to consolidate the regional accounts and report them at a group level. They will also have the opportunity to drive change as the division rapidly grows and develops.

Job Description

Manage GL, AP and AR processes;
Balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis;
Variance analysis, including quarterly analytics reports;
Statutory reporting in all localities (21 legal entities and Branches), including oversight of “dual accounting” arrangement in Italy;
Regional cashflow forecasts, when needed;
Interaction with operating managers to assess project delivery status;
Support Compliance and Reporting Managers in full adherence to SOX controls, which includes, but is not restricted to:
Review and approval of financial journal entries, payroll and bank payments;
Sales contract review;
Coordination of internal and external financial & SOX audits;
Support Global Business Operations (GBO) team with establishing and reporting on budgets and forecasts;
Manage and lead team of eight individuals (five direct reports);
Dotted line responsibility for AP and AR support functions in Bangalore;
This role requires some European travel.

Person / Experience Required

Experience

Significant work experience as an Accounting Manager or higher;
Proven track record of management, coaching and development of people;
Significant exposure to US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act;
Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency is essential;
Understanding of revenue recognition principles would be advantageous;
PeopleSoft experience would be useful.
Excellent verbal, telephone and written communication skills
Excellent organisational, documentation and follow-up skills
Skills in prioritising and dealing with multiple tasks
Demonstrated leadership in managing small teams and working with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines
Detail-oriented; demonstrated commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
Exhibit and promote good personal and business professional persona

Qualifications

Chartered Accountant (ACA or ACCA), preferably with a relevant University Degree
Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) will also be considered if candidate can demonstrate strong financial accounting / controllership experience
