Selway Wheeler are currently partnering with an exciting business in Newport Pagnell that are looking for a full time permanent Assistant Accountant to join their growing organisation. This is a great opportunity to join a well run family company. That is looking to restructure its Accounts department. Key responsibilities.
Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports
Manage Sales & Purchase Ledgers Assistants
Maintaining billing and credit control system
Delivery of customer billing and collections, including direct debit administration
Maintenance of cash book (inc. petty cash, company credit cards) with daily bank reconciliations
Update and maintenance of company’s fixed asset register (Monthly)
Process monthly payroll amendments
Assist in preparation for annual audit and tax computation work
Day to day management of accounts department
Skills and Competencies
Professional qualification (i.e. CIMA, ACCA, ACA etc.) will consider qualified by experience
Sage Line 50 (must)
Thorough understanding of P&L and financial management and reporting concepts
Experienced in financial planning, forecasts and monthly accounts
High level of oral and written communication
Excellent working knowledge of Excel to include V Lookups and Pivot Tables, Access and other Microsoft Office products.
Proven experience of managing, coaching and motivating staff.
A pro-active understanding and mature approach with the ability to demonstrate initiativeProactive, highly flexible, focused and able to multi-task with a can-do attitude
Must be able to continuously prioritise workload
Must display qualities of loyalty, integrity and honesty
