Our client, an award winning service provider with an outstanding reputation are expanding quickly and require a Configuration Database Management Analyst to join their ever increasing IT department. As an CMDB Configuration Analyst you will manage the maintenance and accuracy of the CMDB and its CI’s. You will also be responsible for maintaining and introducing new Service Maps. This will involve acting as the collaborator with project management to define and collect the information required to integrate and map new services in to the CMDB and Service Map register.
Define requirements for monitoring and reporting on the controlled CI’s against appropriate operational areas.
Applying a predefined risk assessment against our CI’s and business services to aid with criticality and priory assessments against those services. Ensuring that key stakeholders are kept informed of CMDB and Asset Register accuracy.

Key responsibilities will include: -

Supporting the definition and application of a CI governance policy.
Supporting the definition and application of a Service Mapping policy.
Apply a defined risk assessment policy against new and existing CI’s and Service Maps.
Assess the IT Operational readiness of new and varied IT Services.
Define requirements for reporting across our CMDB estate to enforce governance and prove health of the estate.
Deliver this into department and team dashboards.
Collaborator with project management to define and collect the information required to integrate and map new services in to the CMDB and Service Map register.
Working with technical teams to integrate monitoring systems with our CMDBCI’s to capture performance information.
Auditing the CI inventory to ensure accuracy.
Developing a CSI process to improve the performance and accuracy of the CMDB.
Ensure that the CMDB records are kept accurate and relevant MI is provided to IT Service Managers.
Control the end of life closure of CI’s and dependant Maps.
As the ideal candidate you will have: -

CI analyst training
Service Now knowledge
Educated to degree level, preferably in a technical discipline, although relevant work experience will be acceptable
Working knowledge of MS Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint, with Project & Visio
Skills and Experience: -

Demonstrable track record of managing IT Operations delivery within an ITIL-oriented framework
5 to 7 years of IT and business work experience
Decision maker with Operational outlook
Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
A naturally good communicator, able to remain calm under pressure and focused on delivery of solutions
Experience of working within deadlines, operating in a high-pressure environment
Experience of successfully managing third party delivery relationships
Team player, including the ability to provide technical leadership and guidance
A positive and customer focused outlook
Thorough practical knowledge of IT Operations and Service management principles and processes
