FINANCE MANAGER

My client is a renowned and well respected charity based in Surrey. Looking for a Finance Manager (Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA or ACA) to join them.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To promote a positive image of the organisation facilities and represent the service as required for customer communications
  2. To undertake accountancy services, ensuring statutory requirements and Codes of Practice are observed in relation to financial accounting.
  3. Support the company and external auditors in all matters of sound financial management.
  4. Preparation of financial reports.
  5. To undertake administration duties, to maximise customer service ensuring best practice and customer satisfaction is focused upon

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Ensuring sound financial reporting and accounting measures are adhered to, by undertaking collating and allocating business income and providing information to managers on forecasting income.
  2. Responsible for the accurate payment of all staff, expenses, supplier invoices, customer refunds and other ad hoc payments
  3. Ensuring cash flow is up to date, and banking statements are accurate.
  4. Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounting data.
  5. Reconcile the accounts to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted, identity discrepancies, and resolve issues
  6. Ensuring a robust system of credit control is in place at all times, and administer and collate up to date accurate data in relation to the collection of payments for bookings and services.
  7. Overseeing the debt management system, to ensure debt management is kept as low as practically possible.
  8. Provide support to Budget Managers in order to assist them in achieving budgetary targets.
  9. Undertaking monthly payroll duties.
  10. Take ownership of annual external audit process, provide accompanying schedules and working papers. Full cooperation on all other audit related matters

Health & Safety

  1. To adhere to the processes and systems for Risk and Health and Safety Management within the facilities, including workplace assessment and risk assessment.
  2. To ensure the recommended Health and Safety procedures are adopted are in line with current legislation.

Minimum Requirements

 Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations

 Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records accurately

 Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software

 Proficiency in Sage 50

 Customer service orientation and negotiation skills

 High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

 Part qualified (preferably CIMA, ACA or ACCA)

 Qualified by experience considered
