A Payroll Officer is required to work within a leading international retailer based in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an internationally recognisable brand that has exceptional growth plans over the next few years.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working in a team of 5 people, you will be responsible for taking ownership of the UK payroll function and liaising with the outsourcers regarding international payroll. Duties will include:

• Taking sole ownership of the payroll for up to 2000 employees
• Managing the payroll for the UK
• Liaising with outsourced payroll providers regarding the International payroll whilst providing accurate data to ensure payments are made on time
• Responsible for carrying out the manual calculations (SSP, SMP, Tax, NI, Overpayments)
• Processing time sheets on a weekly basis
• Processing adjustments required for starters, leavers and any changes to employee’s records
• Processing increases and calculation of back pays
• Managing the absence records on the system, including annual leave and sickness
• Providing accurate advice to management and staff on payroll matters
• Assisting with the streamlining of new methods regarding current payroll policies and procedures across the business

The successful candidate will be degree educated with at least 2-year experience working within a payroll team and will have experience of handling the payroll for up to 1000 employees. You will ideally have inhouse payroll experience. Experience working within the retail or multi-site industry is desirable. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and the role will suit a proactive and confident individual as you will need to have the ability to build relationships across the business.
