If you are looking for a Semi-Senior Accountant role within a successful accountancy practice, read on, because we are recruiting on behalf of this well-established practice, for a talented, enthusiastic person to join the team at its office in Oxford.
This role would suit a ACCA or ACA part-qualified accountant/studier with previous experience gained within a practice environment, who is looking for a long-term career with a firm that will give ongoing training and support.
As Semi-Senior Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships and using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for managers, directors and clients
• Producing profit and loss accounts and balance sheets and preparing bank reconciliations and manual control accounts
• Preparing statutory accounts and finalise accounts under the overall supervision of your Line Manager
• Preparing basic tax computations and returns e.g. corporation tax, VAT
• Assisting more senior members of staff on audit
Further to the above, the you will build productive working relationships with colleagues and clients and continue to develop technical knowledge through on the job training and formal qualifications.
Applicants for this position will satisfy the following:
• You must have about 18 months experience in a UK accountancy practice and have already started ACCA/ACA training
• Be educated to at least A Level – preferably 3 x B grades minimum
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Have strong IT skills, specifically Excel and be able to pick up new IT packages very quickly – Sage, Caseware and CCH experience would be an advantage
• Be positive, self-motivated and confident with a proactive attitude
• Have exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise and meet tight timeframes with high quality output
