Baltic Recruitment are currently looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Management Accountant for their client based in South Shields.

Job Summary:
The Assistant Management Accountant role is a new position which has been created to assist the Finance Director in preparing all Financial Reporting and any commercial or administrative tasks undertaken by the Finance Dept. The Assistant Management Accountant will provide cross functional technical and transactional support throughout the Department.

Duties, Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

* Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts pack
* Daily updates to Weekly cashflow forecasts
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparing and Processing Journals
* VAT Returns and reconciliation
* Credit Control including Sales Ledger
* Supporting the Finance Team including Contract Costing, Purchase Ledger and Cashiering
* Involvement with monthly stocktakes and valuation

* Processing payroll for weekly paid staff

* Statutory returns

* Reporting in to the Finance Director regarding any other ad hoc exercises
* Work within the company guidelines of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 standards.

Skills and Experience:

* Previous accounting experience in a busy Finance Department
* Qualified to AAT Level 3 or equivalent
* Accuracy of work is paramount
* Great interpersonal and communications skills
* Self-discipline and flexibility
* Good team working skills
* The ability to work to monthly/weekly deadlines

* IT Literate with knowledge of Sage Line50c and advanced MS Excel skills would be a distinct advantage

Performance will be assessed on the following areas and Key Performance Indicators:

* Preparation of timely and accurate Management Accounts
* Accurate and timely preparation of Cashflow Forecasts
* Aged Debt control and Credit Management
* Preparation of timely and accurate Contract Costing Reports
* Accurate stocktaking and valuation reports
* Regular preparation of KPI reports
