Our client, based in Warrenpoint, have an urgent requirement for a qualified and experienced Financial Accountant to cover a period of maternity leave.
Working closely with the Finance Director, this is a busy and varied role and could be suited to those coming from an industry or a practice background. Below is an outline of the responsibilities.
Assistance in the preparation of management accounts;
Maintenance of payment ledgers for all bank and cash accounts across the company’s sites;
Generation and reconciliation of manifest invoices through to electronic transmission;
Reconciliation of bank and cash accounts for all currencies against G/L balances;
Reconciliation of intercompany accounts;
Posting and reconciling crewing agency statements;
Analysis of specified expenditure categories and comparison against budget;
Valuation of lube and bunker stocks and preparation of consumption statistics;
Calculation of month end prepayment and accruals;
Maintenance of insurance registers;
Analysis and posting of corporate credit cards;
Extraction and analysis of aged customer/vendor reports;
Reconciliation of selected customer and vendor accounts;
Preparation and submission of VAT returns;
Other duties as required in the finance department.
All candidates should offer experience in the areas outlined above and our client is open to considering candidates who are qualified by experience. You will need experience using computerised accounting software with previous experience us MS Navision being advantageous.
