Finance Assistant

Location: Farnham

Type of role: Temporary

Duration of role: 5 months covering a Maternity leave role

Working day and hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

Pay Rate: £8.71 to £9.50 paye per hour or £10.00 to £10.92 umbrella per hour depending on skill and experience

My client requires a Finance Assistant to help cover a maternity leave until September 2018.

The requirement of the role is to provide day to day support to the Finance Manager and the Management Accountant onsite in Farnham.

Key responsibility will be the performing of key recurring tasks within the team under supervision of the Management Accountants.

Duties will include and are not limited to:

  • Regular journal inputs
  • Regular invoice requisitions
  • Regular reconciliations
  • Regular Accounts Payable liaison
  • Report Running
  • Other general month end tasks

Knowledge, skills, Experience:

Essential - Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Previous Finance Assistant experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships with MA team and wider Finance team
  • Experience of accounts preparation
  • Relevant systems experience (PS Financials, Oracle, Vision)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • To be able to communicate effectively using verbal, written and presentational skills to ensure routine issues are clear and understandable
  • Confident Microsoft Excel user
  • Fully IT literate, able to adopt new systems with ease
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
