Hamilton Island Enterprises is currently seeking a Food & Beverage Manager for qualia. This position is based on Hamilton Island. qualia is a luxurious and contemporary 5-star resort situated on the northern tip of Hamilton Island. Set amongst the back drop of the stunning Whitsunday's secluded natural beauty, qualia is the epitome of elegance, taste and unique opulence.

About the Role

  • 2 restaurants: Long Pavilion & Pebble Beach
  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner, functions and events, poolside service, room service
  • Fine Modern Australian cuisine; a la carte, classics and tasting menus
  • Responsible for all front of house operations in both restaurant outlets and designated qualia events
  • Maintain Hamilton Island's consistent standards of excellence ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Motivate and manage a team of 30 front of house staff
  • Identify and deliver training needs, counsel, coach and conduct performance reviews
  • Liaise and engage with the Recruitment team for the procurement of new staff
  • Manage all costings including inventory, labour, wastage, and daily operating costs
  • Monthly stock take and investigating any discrepancies or stock losses
  • Report directly to the qualia General Manager
  • Live on island position

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality
  • Previous management experience in Food and Beverage within hotels and resorts;island experience an asset
  • Restaurant background in fine dining with degustation experience
  • Beverage and Bar Management experience - Sommelier an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure managing large teams over multiple outlets
  • Demonstrated abilities in team building and mentoring
  • Exemplary organisational and communicative skills
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Impeccable personal presentation
  • Reliable and flexible attitude

This is a full time position (40 hours/week) with a salary of $90,000 + Superannuation.
