Assistant Finance Manager c£35,000 + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus

Working closely with a Finance Manager and the Financial Controller, you will be part of a friendly, professional team partnering highly capable operations teams. The business model is reasonably complex making what seem simple accounting routines varied, challenging and interesting. Consequently there is opportunity to develop the role and to make an impact on the business. Specific duties will include:-

• Management accounts preparation and consolidation for 4 main entities including adjustments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Developing budgets and forecasts with the business partners/operations managers
• Preparing the year-end reporting pack for the auditors
• Overseeing finance systems and controls, including ongoing development
• Company secretarial duties
• Administering VAT, Intrastat returns, corporate tax calculations, CIS and ONS and dealing with HMRC queries as well as controlling tax liabilities on EU and non EU imports
• Ad hoc duties including but not limited to projects and due diligence for acquisitions

Ideally you will be a recently qualified accountant or completing your studies (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) for which there is assistance. If you are qualified by experience you must demonstrate experience and skills required for the role, otherwise your CV must demonstrate the foundation skills required to pursue this role. Possessing both commercial awareness and a good knowledge of Sage with intermediate to advanced Excel skills; you will be team oriented, highly motivated, flexible in your approach, articulate, and possess a good sense of humour. The ability to use initiative and communicate effectively at all levels is essential as is pride in delivering high standards. A background in either industry or practise will be considered.
