Shires Accountants are looking to recruit a part time Bookkeeper to join their small successful team to provide an efficient and effective bookkeeping services for a wide range of clients.
Skills:
To be suitable for this role, you will have a strong background in bookkeeping together with excellent client communication skills. You should also have extensive knowledge of Excel and either Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
Main Duties
- Undertaking day to day bookkeeping for clients
- Reconciliation of Bank accounts
- Ability to prepare reconciliations for TB balances for annual accounts
- Preparations of the VAT returns
- Month-end posting of accruals and prepayments
- Preparations of any ad hoc reports for external & internal purposes
- Maintaining up to date complete financial records
- To complete various forms required by HM Revenue & Customs
- Liaising with clients by telephone, email and by letter to obtain data
Core Skills
- Experience of using Xero, and book keeping packages
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- AAT Part Qualified / Qualified or Qualified by Experience
- Experience of Double Entry bookkeeping
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
- Able to understand new rules and legislation quickly and easily
- Able to work under pressure and possibly deal with multiple payrolls at any one time
- Methodical in your approach to working
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal data
- Excellent written and spoken English
