Part Qualified Financial Accountant - £220 Day Rate -Leeds - 6 Months Contract

Outside Scope: IR35

Advantage Resourcing are working closely with a major Government official recruiting for a number of part qualified Accountants to join their dynamic team.

The Role

The main purpose of this role is to provide strategic financial support to the key stakeholders.

Main Duties:

• Supporting the Director and Finance Business Partners in the presentation, and interpretation of the financial position through Management Information (MI) being produced for discussion with the Directorate and Deputy Directors.
• Providing financial support on deep dives and problem solving.
• Liaising with DH Financial Accounting team to ensure all accounting entries are completed correctly and working papers are produced for analytical review and audit.
• Undertaking critical review of on-going work and processes to ensure finance offer continues is fit for purpose, finance are getting things right first time, and that processes are lean.
• Managing and advising the business on specialist financial areas (provisions, contingent liabilities, commitments, investments, and finance leases).
• Ensuring all requisition and receipting for goods and services from the business are processed in line with the agreed Service Level Agreement.
• Managing specialist finance areas on behalf of the business Group, including development and provision of non-generic MI where this is not available from the system.
• Ensuring journals (for actual, profile, budget and forecast), and other processes where not a self-service task.

Successful Candidates:

• Desirable CCAB (or equivalent) Part Qualified / Currently studying for CIMA, ACCA or ACA (minimum first level completed) accountant or AAT qualified.
• Intermediate IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. Oracle General Ledger knowledge is desirable.
• Practical experience in one or more area of management accounting, cost analysis, planning and budgeting, financial accounting or the preparation of statutory accounts
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Must be able to adopt a proactive problem solving approach in order to be able to respond to the changing needs of the business
• Experience in central government financial management, financial analysis and financial planning
