Hays Accountancy & Finance Worcestershire are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to start as soon as possible for our client based in Kidderminster. This is a brilliant organisation who really invests in their employees and promotes from within.
Your new role
As the Assistant Accountant you will support the Finance Manager in achieving Business objectives and managing business transactions within the accounting systems to ensure accurate information is presented to all stakeholders. Your duties will be:
- Maintain Purchase ledger transaction.
- Open new accounts, obtain trade references, register, match, prepare, post supplier payments, and send supplier remittances.
- Reconcile supplier statements, Reconcile bank statements agree back to cashbook/NL postings.
- Maintain Sales ledger transactions.
- Open new accounts, obtain trade references, generate weekly and monthly sales invoices, and distribute.
- Receipt of payments, allocate cash and reconcile customer statements.
- Analyse & monitor Aged Debtors report highlighting potential bad debts.
- Provide Business analysis on operational activity. Support Finance Manager with periodic reporting, budgeting and forecasting requirements to deliver accurate information in a timely manner.
- Assist in VAT, Intrastats, EC sales & other Govt returns submissions.
- Maintain Fixed Asset register records.
What you'll need to succeed
This organisation is happy to accept candidates from both ends of the spectrum, whether you have strong experience in a previous role, or have just graduated with little experience, you will still be considered as long as you are enthusiastic, driven and a switched on individual.
