Financial Controller

Our client is a growing business which are currently looking for a commercial Financial Controller to join their business to cover maternity leave for approx 14-16 months.

This is a rare opportunity to join a company that is experiencing rapid growth and is in need of a strong candidate with proven experience of Financial Accounting, Budgets, Management Accounting and Reporting, Treasury and Cash Management, Payroll, Finance IT systems, Procurement and Staff Management.

The main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and managing the finance team on a daily, weekly & monthly basis.
• Reviewing/approving/declining project budgets within budgeting software.
• Annual company budget preparation in conjunction with departmental heads and board
• Monthly forecast preparation and presentation in board meeting
• Overseeing the preparation of the management accounts by the Management Accountant and presenting the figures in the monthly board meeting
• Ensuring KPIs are being met and flagging any potential financial performance issues with the board
• Organising and facilitating the monthly financial operations meeting with the Finance Director and Director
• Overseeing internal financial projects - to include fixed asset register review and internally led commercial training
• Overseeing all finance processes and software management to include development, and integrations
• Ensuring all financial regulations are adhered to - from HMRC, companies house, etc
• Scheduling year end and month end deadlines for team
• Organising and running bi-weekly team meetings
• Year end close down and final TB preparation for accountants
• Overseeing annual audit - liaising with accountants and Finance Director
• Working as part of the senior leadership team with other heads of departments within the business to support the board with strategic goals
• Liaising with/building relationships with external parties - HP providers, the bank, forex currency providers, auditors/accountants
• Make recommendations for improvements to existing processes and/or new ways of working smarter/more efficiently
• Any other duties requested by the Finance Director or board

The ideal candidate will either be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified. However they will consider candidates who are Qualified by experienced.
