Role In this role, the individual will be the main point of contact for the client on all things related to understanding their trading P&L and how their valuations have been sourced. In addition, the Product Controller will work with internal partner areas to ensure all required processes have been performed to verify the valuation accuracy of the client's portfolio.  As a result, the individual will have direct exposure with clients and also with HFS colleagues in various other offices globally. HFS is experiencing a tremendous amount of growth with new clients coming on board in EMEA (and globally), and the team is expected to grow in headcount in the near future.  From a career development perspective, the individual will learn to work effectively in a fast-paced environment that provides services to sophisticated clients.  The individual will get exposure to many different product types across all sectors.  The individual will also learn the complete cycle from start to finish when a client executes a trade.  This will enable the individual to understand the full picture of hedge fund administration and also be able to effectively engage the appropriate shared service team within NTHFS. Responsibilities Assisting in the daily P&L process for one or more clients Working with various cash securities and derivative products including; Equity Options, Fixed Income, Credit and Mortgages Working directly with clients on all Product Control related items Daily assistance and review of Quality Control checks Preparing daily P&L explain reports and attribution analysis as required Assisting in monthly (or more frequently as required) price verification process and associated reporting Working closely with the implementation team during the take on phase for new clients Preparing presentations and analysis as required on trading strategies, process improvement, valuation analysis Oversight of daily cash and stock reconciliation process including aged break review Working with Implementation team to on-board new clients Skills / Experience Knowledge of profit and loss reporting and related attribution analysis Knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) Client service experience Degree in Finance/Accounting is preferable About Northern Trust For more than a century, Northern Trust has worked hard building our legacy of outstanding service, expertise and integrity.
