Working as part of the very stable Accounts team, you will have responsibility for supervising and delivering all monthly and quarterly work such as bookkeeping, VAT, Xero reviews, Xero reporting as well as developing and growing Xero skills within the practice and with the clients.

Description

The Key responsibilities for thisXero Advisor/Business Services Manager based in Bristol are:

  • Be the Xero Champion - the main point of contact and promoter of Xero within the practice
  • Develop and grow our Xero skills within the practice, ensuring that all relevant staff are Xero Certified and that new recruits are trained and put through Xero certification
  • Manage, plan and support client Xero migrations
  • Maintain and develop relationships with select Xero Add-on partners
  • Demonstrate Xero to clients 121 and deliver training
  • Provide and coordinate support for clients using Xero
  • Supervise regular production of Xero management accounts, VAT work and paid for Bookkeeping Checks on Xero
  • Prepare Xero data and reports ready for manager/director doing client Quarterly review meetings
  • Carry out work on client records so that reporting can be carried out each month with tools like Spotlight Reporting
  • Support Xero Demonstrations at events / Deliver Xero Demonstrations at events
  • Organise, delegate and supervise and in some cases carry out and bookkeeping and processing for all clients (Xero and non-Xero)
  • Review relevant jobs in Xero Practice Manager and ensuring that Start date, budget and allocated team are up to date
  • Negotiate with Accounts Team Managers to ensure that staff are available to complete work that you are supervising
  • Work with Senior Management team to ensure appropriate attendance at Xerocon (conference) each year.
  • Manage jobs within a client portfolio
  • Prepare or delegate preparation of client trial balance and import into Xero Workpapers ready for accounts production
  • (When required) prepare accounts from client trial balance and Xero Workpapers for review
  • Carry out analytical review of trial balance and escalate any problems identified to Manager for review
  • Update manager and team regarding client, workload and priorities

Profile

The Key Skills required for this Xero Advisor/Business Services Manager based in Bristol are:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to interact with a broad range of people and communicate effectively and credibly
  • Strong IT skills including detailed knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Xero accounting package, experience of CCH systems would be an advantage
  • Good training and presentation skills, able to train staff on the use of Xero and deliver demonstrations at events
  • Strong organisational skills and eye for detail
  • Excellent team working skills but also able to work on own initiative
  • Effective time management skills, able to work well in a pressurised environment and prioritise work
  • Results orientated to meet and exceed client expectations, be motivated to deliver high quality work that consistently meet internal and external client deadlines
  • Up to date accounting knowledge including accounting standards
  • Commercial awareness - strong understanding of clients and their businesses
