A FTSE Listed organisation in Dorset is looking to appoint a Regional Internal Auditor who will be responsible for 9 regions across the UK both from a financial and operational perspective.

Client Details

FTSE listed organisation in Dorset

Description

Reporting into the Risk and Internal Audit Manager, The Regional Internal Auditor will assess whether the Regional businesses are complying with the Group's core set of policies and procedures.

The role will also provide support, as required, to the Risk & Internal Audit Manager in helping to deliver the rest of the Internal Audit Plan, which is based on the key risks to the business.

You will be required to spend 1 week per month visiting the various sites around the UK with the rest of your time office based, planning the Audits and providing necessary recommendations upon return.

Each region has its own Director and they will be your main points of contact along with more junior members of staff who will be responsible for the testing.

The challenges of this role are that the regions have grown from 5 to 9 in the last few years with high staff turnover and as such, the policies and procedures aren't necessarily being adopted and implemented across the board.

The Regional Internal Auditor must be able to demonstrate that they can ensure all Audit policies and procedures are adopted across the board and that the Audit plan links back to the group wide risk register that is currently in place.

Profile

You will be either a Qualified Accountant or Qualified Auditor and have demonstrable experience of Internal Audit within Practice or Industry.

You will have had exposure to or ideally worked within a large organisation and are therefore aware of the scope of an Internal Audit function and how this translates group wide.

Useful skills include:

  • Good analytical ability to identify significant issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, General Ledger & Accounts Payable (e.g. Agresso).
  • Proficient in report writing.

The ability to develop good working relations with the business units and the divisional leadership teams to facilitate the effectiveness of the internal audit department is critical for this appointment as is the ability to work autonomously.

Job Offer

£40,000 - £42,000 base salary plus car allowance, pension and bonus.
