WesTrac are seeking a qualified Maintenance Planner for our Mount Whaleback site. Reporting to the Project Manager this position is responsible for completing planned maintenance and breakdown maintenance of the fleet in a safe and effective manner.
Reporting to the Contract Manager
5 days on, 2 days, 4 days on, 3 days off
10.5 hour days (inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid meal break)
Relocation assistance provided
The successful candidate will be a qualified plant mechanic with at least 5 years minimum experience who is proficient with Microsoft applications and is able to lead small teams to drive consistency and quality. You will also have experience using risk assessment tools and have the ability to identify and remedy hazards and safety related issues that are identified and raised in the workplace
Essential Criteria:
Hold a trade qualification
Previous experience at a maintenance planning capacity
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to absorb technical information quickly
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships
Basic understanding of financial principles (e.g. budgeting, forecasting)
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills to effectively resolve issues in the workplace
Highly developed attention to detail
Desirable Experience:
Previous leadership experience
Caterpillar product knowledge
Green Belt certification
