Lawyer or Accountant? Commercial Director

This is one of the most varied and left field roles I have worked in in many years. My client is a serial entrepreneur who has a range of businesses one of which is a professional services firm. This firm has a list of impressive clients from UHNWs, listed companies and OMBs. The role I am looking to fill is to work with and be the No.2 to the Managing Partner and owner. The role will involve you both advising such clients on a list of issues and projects so you will have to be a lateral thinker, be hugely commercial and see the bigger picture. The clients will always come up with creative, obscure and wonderful ideas and the trick will be to get them the advice they need, often bringing in specialist from within the firm (and sometimes outside).

The person who fills this role will need to be very commercial, proactive and able to think around problems. You may be a lawyer, accountant or corporate financier, your background is less important as it will be more determined by your approach, problem solving skills and ability to build trusted relationships with the clients.

Ideally you will be from a reputable law or accountancy firm or you may have already moved into a commercial role. This position will see endless opportunities for you and if you want a challenge, look no further.
