Scope of the Role
Currently we have an exciting new opportunity for a Commercial Analyst to join our Finance team based in High Wycombe.

Reporting into the Senior Commercial Analyst, we are seeking an individual to support the business and finance team in managing key areas of costs/income and providing accurate forecasting and variance analysis. 

Alongside the Senior Analyst, you will be partnering with our e-commerce, Buying, Merchandising, CRM, and Advertising and Promotions departments, ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliations, reporting and analysis.  The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a growing team and develop good communication skills to liaise with Finance and non Finance members.

You will be:
• Day to day management and reporting of margin, actioning cost price changes alongside promotional campaigns
• Reconciling markdown funding against promotions
• Reconciliation of supplier funding
• Reconciliation of the Loyalty scheme
• Analysing and reviewing agreements with the buying team ensuring integrity with finance systems and processes
• For the cost and income areas of responsibility, you will:
– Prepare monthly prepayments, accruals and journal postings
– Provide balance sheet reconciliations monthly
– Provide Flash forecasts monthly
– Deliver the month end P&L providing meaningful variance analysis to budget, forecast and last year
– Assist the Senior Analyst with the delivery of the quarterly forecast following review with budget holders
• Daily sales and margin reporting
• Adhoc analysis as required

The above list is non-exhaustive and additional duties and analysis may be required.

What we look for from you:
• Graduate with relevant Accountancy/Business/Maths degree / Part Qualified
• Demonstrate organisation skills and prioritising own work.
• Familiarity with Excel, basic functions as a minimum
• Experience in one of more of the top ERP systems, preferably Oracle Financials is an advantage
• Genuine enthusiasm to work in a busy retail environment and keenness to learn and develop
