Senior Financial Accountant

Hands on role reporting to the CFO, ideal for someone with project accounting experience.

Broad role, with exposure to management accounts, project accounting and senior stakeholders

Client Details

My client is a global architectural business within the Building and Construction industry. Based in Wimbledon they have a vast portfolio that includes some of the most recognised and iconic buildings in the world.

They truly are a global business and due to business needs, this is a newly created role where you will be directly working with heads of departments and the CFO.

Description

The Senior Financial Accountant who will be based in Wimbledon will be responsible for:

General Accounting

• Preparation of the management accounts
• Monthly foreign exchange revaluation of all balances
• Oversee debtors' ledger and liaise with Heads of to ensure income is collected in a timely manner.

Project Accounting

• Maintain and review accounting for all current projects, and ensure Deltek reflects current position.
• Liaise with Chief Finance Officer/Project Managers on monthly revenue recognition and ensure Deltek reconciles to other sources of information.
• In liaison with Chief Finance Officer prepare updated revenue and profitability reports for inclusion in monthly reforecasts and budgets.
• Prepare monthly profitability report for Chief Finance Officer on all current and historical projects.
• Obtain initial advice on appropriate structures for new projects and agree structure plan with Chief Finance Officer.
• Obtain bank accounts as necessary for new projects and set up bank mandates in accordance with instruction from Chief Finance Officer.
• Maintain local tax records as required for project specific structures and submit necessary returns in a timely manner. Liaise with Chief Finance Officer, Business Manager and local advisers on requirements

Profile

The successful Senior Financial Accountant will ideally be:

• Qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA accountant or equivalent
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Experience in project accounting e.g. work in progress
• Knowledge of Deltek is highly advantageous
• Experience working in or auditing Architectural/Construction businesses.
