Commercial Accountant - NI Top 100 Business Client: VANRATH are actively recruiting for a Commercial Accountant for a leading NI Top 100 company based in Belfast. Reporting to the Senior Retail Accountant the Commercial Accountant role is a key role within the finance and is an excellent opportunity to work with a professional finance team in a dynamic and progressive organisation. The Project Accountant will be tasked with carrying out specific finance projects to enhance the flow of information throughout the organisation. Responsibilities: Monthly P&L and Balance Sheet review against budget Working capital & cash flow analysis  Preparation of monthly Board reports  Presentation of results and variances to senior management in a clear and concise fashion, highlighting areas of risk Responsibility of Monthly & Quarterly Accounts & Reporting Management and review of the budgetary planning, challenging assumptions and results where necessary  Continuous LBE (Latest Best Estimate) planning in line with business performance, strategic outlook and market conditions. Working closely with key managers across the business to ensure LBE's are timely and appropriately reflect financial forecast performance  Communicating results and updates to key stakeholders  Overseeing the development of existing reporting and forecasting models to meet changing business requirements Ensuring sound financial controls are in place to actively manage risk  Management of the risks associated with retail products offered (new and existing)  Responsible for regulatory return submissions to ensure compliance with licence and tax obligations Work with the Senior Management Team to evaluate and model commercial initiatives and provide insight and direction on key business decisions  Develop the annual Five Year Business Plan in conjunction with the senior management team, providing robust challenge where appropriate The Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with ideally 3 years post qualified experience gained within a fast paced commercial environment. You will have excellent commercial acumen and will have an enquiring mind coupled with strong problem solving skills .
