A leading Bristol based charity, looking to appoint a Financial Controller to head up their finance team. This role will manage a finance team of 7 (2 directly.)

Description

• Lead on the preparation and the delivery of the finance business plan and lead on defining clear performance targets and their achievement.

• Ensure appropriate team structure in place, lead and manage the team, ensure required skills in place with back fill for key functions, ensure a motivated and happy team.

• Lead on the budget planning and re forecasting process.

• Lead on the preparation of cash flow forecasts.

• Ensure timely, accurate and relevant financial reporting to all relevant stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations; taxation (including VAT and gift aid), charity law and company law, SORP.

• Preparation of financial statements in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations, lead on the year-end process and manage the day-to-day relationship with the auditors.

• Manage the payroll function.

• Manage the day-to-day treasury requirements and support the Finance Director in strategic investment management.

• Deputise for the Finance Director in respect of financial matters in their absence.

Profile

The ideal candidate for the Financial Controller position:

• Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experince in a senior financial management position.
• Strong line management experience.
