BI Technical Lead Who you are: You are a results driven, experienced data professional with broad BI technical experience utilising best in class tools and methodologies. You are looking for a new challenge in a fast moving, demanding customer focused company and have shown ability to design technical BI solutions end to end. Your team: You will be working as part of the Business Intelligence and Analytics team which sits in the Finance Business unit. The BI&A team comprises of multiple roles and skill sets and delivers end to end BI and Analytics solutions which are used across all business units in Vodafone Ireland. Along with other tech leads and a team of on shore and offshore developers you will report to the Datawarehouse Manager. The next challenge for you: As BI Technical Lead you will • Be accountable for delivery of BI element of IT projects across each stage of delivery lifecycle via resource management, requirements management, project plan, design, development and testing • Develop Teradata Database applications to meet business requirements using Teradata SQL, Unix (shell, awk, bash) and Ab Initio ETL tool • Be responsible for delivering solutions with the optimal performance and data storage • Carry out project sizing and feasibility studies • Perform efficiency tuning of Teradata and Ab Initio jobs (Statistics / Partitioning / Join indexing / Parallelism) • Produce and review design documents • Undertake ad-hoc data analysis and reporting using SQL • Support critical, near real time processes and resolve issues • Deliver software and hardware upgrades to BI and ETL tools • Ensure sufficient quality checks in place to detect or resolve issues with input data • Perform Database and Virtual server space analysis and maintenance • Develop and execute detailed Test Plans • Maintain Data Model using Erwin • Adhere to standards/methodologies (Sarbanes Oxley) • Support implementation of solutions for Business Unit Reporting needs (using Microstrategy BI query tool) • What you need: • Combination of technical and business skills • 7 years plus technical experience in an Enterprise level BI environment • Programming background - database knowledge; Strong SQL, ETL tools, file manipulation eg Unix skills (Shell, bash, awk) • Knowledge of Reporting tools • Working knowledge of complex data models (over 100 sources) • Experience of complex solutions and full project management lifecycle development/methodologies • Experienced at debugging complex logic • 3rd Level Degree in IT • Hands-on experience of UNIX, TERADATA, AB INITIO, MICROSTRATEGY or similar reporting tools while not essential, would be a distinct advantage. • Knowledge of Telecommunication industry (Fixed Line and Mobile), not essential, but a distinct advantage.
