A fast growing accountancy practice are looking to add strength to their audit team in the way of an Audit Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of audit and accounts clients.

Whether you are a couple of years post qualified (ACA/ACCA) or been working in audit and accounts for a long time, we would love to hear from you.

Your role will see you manage the smooth running of audit assignments, ensuring audit jobs are completed on time and to the required standard. Planning and reviewing accounts and audit assignments to a standard suitable for director review.

You will be responsible for providing clients with a range of audit, assurance and accounts services and business advice. This includes but is not limited to:

  1. Active engagement with clients to gain good understanding of their business

  2. Managing audit and accounts team to ensure they carry out audit and accounts assignments within budget and time frames

  3. Ensure audit teams have documented audit tests and findings

  4. Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures

  5. Ensuring audit and accounts files are finalised for the partners. This includes ensuring the team has produced reports highlighting issues, identifying risks and providing potential solutions

  6. Verify assets and liabilities

  7. Obtain a briefing from the relevant partner and ascertaining budget prior to commencing client work. Managing budget and exceptions and overspends where necessary

  8. Ensure teams are working to set objectives for WIP, WIP ageing and recoveries

  9. Pro actively organise tasks and communicate with clients to ensure timely production of accounts

  10. Liaising with partners and managers to ensure they are kept informed of progress and any problems

  11. Organise resourcing, monitor the financial performance and ensuring deadlines are met for each audit

  12. Assisting in the maintenance and development of the client relationship

  13. Ensuring Anti Money Laundering (AML) processes are complied to and monitored

  14. Ensuring all pre year end planning is undertaken and final accounts are passed through to the Administration team and sent to Companies House for filing.

The role will require the holder to possess strong communication and report writing skills, along with staff supervision experience as you will be involved in line management, staff reviews and appraisals.

Applicants must possess audit technical expertise to assist the department and provide resolution of audit technical issues. Experience of IFRS, UK GAAP (including FRS 101/102) and International Auditing standards (UK and Ireland) is required.

Your ability to manage client relationships as well as an appetite to build new ones is important for the success of this position and your career development which is readily available in this position.
