Main Purpose of the Job:                                             Receive training in all aspects of the operation of the store, and gain detailed experience in individual departments throughout the store.  Take the initiative to actively seek developmental training opportunities. Relevant Skills/Experience: Minimum 1 years' experience in the retail industry; Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); Working knowledge of the CBE system is desirable; Experience balancing cash/tills is desirable; Experience with fresh food; Excellent communication skills; Good delegation skills; Highly driven with a strong work ethic; An understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets is desirable; Commerciality and brand awareness; Passion for grocery retail; Thrive in a fast-paced working environment. Fully flexible to work varying hours (including weekend work) Main Duties: Always ensure that customer satisfaction is the number one priority by greeting each customer as if it's their first visit to the store and consistently deliver an exceptional service by displaying I-CARE service excellence behaviours; Actively participate in all training and development initiatives, and performance assessments; Support Store Manager in the development and training of the team to meet the SuperValu Retail Excellence and I-CARE Service Excellence standards; Ensure merchandising and presentation of entire store is of the highest standard at all times and in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines; Implement policies to gain operational efficiencies i.e. Gold reports/scanning information etc.; Support Store Manager in achieving Retail Excellence Standards; Set, monitor and achieve sales targets with the team on gross profit margin, net margin, waste and other KPIs as agreed with Store Manager; Ensure all HACCP best practices are implemented across the store; Implement planograms correctly and ensure the correct range is in place in store; Have a strong working knowledge of relevant legislation as it pertains to the Store, in particular but not limited to, Food Safety regulations, Health & Safety regulations, sale of alcohol and employment legislation; Ensure all employees wear their full uniform, name badge and display a neat appearance at all times; Ensure the store is compliant with relevant legislation and implement procedures as required; Ensure closing down procedures are carried out efficiently and effectively in all departments within the store; Manage such departments as are assigned to you; Gain competence with all aspects of supply procedures - ordering, delivery procedures, stock rotation and control procedures; Comply with all store rules, policies and procedures; Engage with new initiatives and embrace new ways of working; Actively live Centra brand-values i.e. Proud, Energetic, Imaginative and Community-Based; Perform any other duties or assume any other responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time.  These may be outside of your normal area of work. Furthermore, you may be assigned to work in other areas within the Store on either a temporary or permanent basis.
