They require a Finance Assistant to support their financial team situated in their Bury St. Edmunds offices with parking on site and good public transport links. Description

Key responsibilities for the successful Finance Assistant include;

  • Initiating and processing payments to suppliers
  • Posting of cash movements in cash books and GL.
  • Reconciliations and revaluation of a number of bank accounts in GBP and foreign currency to bank statements and
  • GL
  • Reconciliations of sub-ledgers to GL
  • Monitoring of and producing KPIs for finance department
  • Driving process improvement in purchase ledger and associated procedures
  • Ad hoc support to finance team

Profile

Key abilities for the sucesfful Finance Assistant include;

  • Experience from finance department, ideally Purchase Ledger
  • Computer Literacy - ERP systems, Microsoft Outlook, Word
  • Intermediate level of Excel
  • Keen interest in process improvements and system development
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
    • Desired Skills:

  • Some understanding of IFS
  • Experience of high volume processing
  • Some understanding of impact of foreign currency movements
  • Knowledge of German, French, Spanish or Mandarin
  • Experience from automated invoice processing
