Accountant

R Walters & Co is a fast growing accountancy practice looking for a new staff member to join its friendly team as the practice is losing a long standing employee of eight years due to relocation. 

Applicants should be ACCA qualified or an affiliate with at least 36 month experience in a professional practice. Capable and responsible enough to deal with their work efficiently and with minimal supervision. Reporting directly to the principal. 

The practice provides services to a diverse portfolio of clients and responsibilities will include the following:- 

• Preparation of quarterly vat returns
• Preparation of monthly payroll and submission of year end payroll reports.
• All statutory work, including preparation and filing of annual returns.
• Preparation of self-employed account and rental accounts
• Book-keeping services for our clients using various book-keeping software including sage, Xero and quick-books.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of year end accounts for Limited companies, preparation of corporation tax returns.
• Other admin duties, within the practice.
• Training junior employees 

The practice uses various software including Sage Line 50, Sage Accounts production, Bright pay, Xero, QuickBooks and PTP. Working knowledge of these softwares would be preferable but not essential. 

The candidate should also have good typing and  excel skills and possess good communication skills. 

Salary – Negotiable based on experience.
