We've all heard of, or perhaps been in positions where every day is the same, growth opportunities are minimal, and management is unsupportive. At Bright Horizons, we provide our employees with the exact opposite experience! As a Senior Accountant we can offer you a role that provides variety and excitement, and where you can truly add value. After all, Bright Horizons has been consistently named by FORTUNE Magazine, Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, and the Denver Post as one of the best companies to work for!

As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee the accounting of multiple centers/schools by analyzing operating results, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and provide accounting guidance to staff accountants, center directors, and Regional Managers. You will use your professional experience to be a leader on the team and integral in helping the team supervisor keep the team performing with excellence.

What you will be doing:
  • Perform month–end accounting for centers/schools, including: reviewing and analyzing operating results and explaining fluctuations, revenue and expense related journal entries, and client billing.
  • Communicate regularly via phone, fax, email, and in person with client liaisons, center directors/principals, regional managers and divisional vice presidents to provide accounting expertise and to answer questions and explain accounting practices.
  • Review client contracts for revenue and billing implications.
  • Support center/school accounting systems and processes.
  • Perform and/or review balance sheet reconciliations (several bank reconciliations) on a company–wide and/or center/school specific level; including researching and correcting variances in a timely manner.
  • Perform accounting and record invoices for new centers/schools under development and special projects as assigned. Work with client liaisons for reporting and accounting related tasks.
