Grafton Banks Finance is currently recruiting for a Commercial Finance Manager for a rapidly expanding SME within the technology sector with offices in East London. This company is set to expand considerably over the coming years and has an impressive order book. The role requires a commercially focussed qualified accountant with robust modelling skills and experience of contract negotiations or reviews from a finance perspective in order to apply. As a commercial finance manager your primary responsibilities will be to take ownership of preparation of the monthly accounts, rolling forecasts, and the annual budget as well as ensuring that the forecasts and budgets have been developed from a sound basis and key assumptions have been tested.

Working with the CEO of the business you will:

  • You will support and challenge the business, create value by improving the quality of decisions and ensure that a chosen business strategy delivers the highest financial benefit at an acceptable level of risk

  • Provide financial leadership, relevant forward–looking insight and challenge in determining and delivering the strategic business direction

  • Act as a catalyst in driving forward initiatives critical to delivering the strategy

  • Provide input into commercial assumptions for actual results, budgeting and on–going forecasting

  • Optimise supply cost management and ensure rigorous governance controls are adhered to

  • Review macro–economic trends and market and competitor approaches to refine commercial offerings (e.g. external market analysis/benchmarking/competitor analysis/predictive modelling)

  • Support working capital optimisation

  • Drive the development & implementation of priority projects, identify continual improvement opportunities

  • Preparation of the monthly accounts, rolling forecasts, and the annual budget;

  • Ensuring the forecasts and budgets have been developed from a sound basis, and key assumptions have been tested

  • Developing metrics/KPI's to monitor operational performance, and to track and report on cost saving initiatives

  • Provide financial and commercial support to the founder and shareholders of the business

  • Provide ad–hoc analysis and insights on specific issues

  • Providing monthly commentary detailing trading performance and analysis of key variances to budget and latest forecast

  • Production of the finance board report for presentation at board meetings;

  • Ensuring the terms of all commercial agreements are accurately reflected in all financial reporting and forecasting
