A newly created pharmaceutical business currently seek an Accounts Assistant for 12 months to cover a period of Maternity. The business are a well known company within the Cambridge area and securing a position here would only be of benefit to your CV going forward. The business have an excellent benefits package, free on site parking aswell and an excellent working environment.

This role supports the Financial Accountant and Finance Manager in the day to day transactional duties of the finance team. This role would be excellent for someone who is studying towards their AAT and is looking to progress in their career. Candidates must have previous accountancy/finance experience. Applicants who apply without any relevant experience won't be progressed any further.

The main duties of the role will be as follows:
– Checking and processing of purchase ledger invoices (most are processed via the system) however invoices need to be checked for errors and some manually processed.
– Processing of payments to suppliers
– Daily downloading of the bank statement and reconciling/posting all payments going in and out of the bank account
– Generating sales invoices and distributing to customers
– AR and AP month end reconciliation and close down
– Timely processing of expense claims
– Monthly download of Barclaycard credit card statements
– General ledger journal posting

Candidates must have strong systems experience, Oracle experience is desirable. Candidates must have a good understanding of excel and be good at suggesting and implementing new processes.
