MSD’s Regional Delivery Centers (RDC), located across three regions (Americas, Europe, and Asia), are responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of standardized, global financial processes. The RDC – APAC, Malaysia will be responsible for the execution and delivery of a broad range of financial services and processes across MSD business divisions and markets for the APAC region.

The Operational Excellence Senior Specialist will assist in the creation of standardized frameworks for continuous improvement, customer relationship management, project management, and key performance metric development across all the different departments within the Business Services Center. This position will work in alignment with the Global Process Owners and Finance IT leaders, and its Operational excellence pears in the other business service centers within MSD. For this purpose, this position will be required to support development and implement best practices for the above mentioned areas in support of the BSC to deliver seamless execution; innovation and value add business support. This role supports the Operational Excellence team to drive process improvements and implement best practices within the Internal Controls & Compliance framework.

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Support Managing of Project Portfolio and Coordinate future transitions to the BSC 
• Strategic Finance Project Management
o Support systems implementations / automation projects
o Drive process improvement and new initiatives to comply with the Corporate Internal Controls 
• Support development and execution of Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements to 
manage the operation effectively and in line with stakeholder’s expectations.
• Perform Six Sigma or Lean analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective process improvements and resolution for any identified problem.  
• Support design and implement process improvement and project management training programs
• Support development and deployment of customer relationship management strategy and service 
culture, through definition of the cultural, process, systems, and communication methodologies.
• Coordinate with stakeholders in order to define objectives, align expectations and ensure an “end to end” approach to process change and improvements. 
• Support definition of strategies to achieve objectives and goals while effectively managing service 
delivery cost. 
• Support documentation of controls key and non- key enabling completeness of Controls environment to both MSD country and market leadership
• Develop a good understanding of the overall Finance organization and broader MSD business in the APAC region 
• Support the execution of the vision and strategy of Controls from a systems, process, policy, and procedures perspective. Demonstrate knowledge of Internal Control environment, operational controls documentation and adhering to compliance requirements.
• Understand the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of MSD’s financial processes and systems; ensure the existence of adequate internal controls
• Support Controls across multiple stakeholders including Market Controllers, RDC staff, Process Stewards and MCAAS. Support adoption global practices to  operate in an efficient and cost effective manner and achieve ongoing operational efficiency targets
• Share best practices across the markets and BSC center 
• Actively participate in Regional / Global Continuous Improvement / Project Management meetings in order to stay abreast for new practices and maintain continuity over the hits resolution
• Support the regional control alignment and the standardization over the Process towers
• Ensure the awareness of internal controls across the BSC center, reinforce the knowledge in order to improve the control and strengthen quality
• Coordinate and manage the process of accessing systems in the BSC areas 
• Manage Ad-Hoc Requirements
• Support the BSC cross functionally: 
o Mentoring and coaching
o Foster collaboration and proactive problem solving
• Focus on customer centricity

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a shared service department of a multinational company including demonstrated experience in dealing with ex-US accounting
• Business-level English and Mandarin language skills (speaking and writing) required
• Experience using SAP ERP system
• Experience with US GAAP desired
• Experience with non-US GAAP environments
• Experience with Financial Controls
• Experience working with global cultures
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills required
• Demonstrated commitment to education and professional development  
• Advanced problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive management style to implement new processes
• SAP or JDE skills desired
• Intermediate to Advanced PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
