Our client, an International Law Firm is currently looking for
Accounting Manager for their Dubai office. The accounting department is responsible for the management of accounts payables, general ledger, payroll, cash management, payments, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
The Accounting Manager would be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department comprising two qualified accountants, working closely with the Regional Finance Head (RFH) to ensure that functional service levels are optimized in a timely and accurate manner. Process review and improvement is a key focus area for this role and while the primary responsibility would be the processes in the accounting team, the Accounting Manager would be expected to support the RFH and other departmental managers in reviewing and optimizing processes in the Revenue function.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
1.
ProcessingMonth and end-of-year processesAnnual audits, group, statutory and SRA.Accounts payables, processing, reconciliation, paymentsAd-hoc paymentsGeneral ledger and bank reconciliationsPayroll preparation/reviewPartner distributionsBudgetingCash flow forecastingRevenue and expenditure variance analysisClient monies accounting and compliance with SRA rulesFixed Asset ManagementManaging banking relationships.All actions required to maintain the integrity of the General Ledger

ReportingProvide weekly reports on WIP , Debtors & CreditorsCompile monthly management accounting reports in the prescribed formats and periodicity.Support the RFH in the production of the annual budget and forecasts in the form and periodicity prescribed by managementProduce and file quarterly VAT returns under the supervision of the RFH, including liaison with the FTA to resolve queries.Produce periodical statements for related parties and government agencies. ·

Management & ControlRecruitment, training, supervision and development of the Accounting Team, including but not limited to conducting the annual appraisals along with the RFH.Managing personnel issues, such as team holidays, staff conflicts, absenteeism, and performance issues.Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principlesProactively review and improve systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions.Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracyEstablish procedures and processes to ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulationsReview and improve on existing procedures to ensure compliance with SRA regulationsEstablish and maintain files and records to document transactions and GL activity to supplement the accounting system data.Co-ordinate and work with internal and external clients to ensure that service levels are negotiated and maintained.Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure in SAP.Any other projects or duties assigned by the RFH.The Ideal Candidate would have:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required (CA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA preferred) Five to 10 years prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. At least 2-5 years of experience working in a law firm or professional services firm. Solid hands on experience in all accounting aspects especially in processing VAT Prior experience in SAP would be a strong advantage Must be a demonstrable Microsoft Excel super user Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines To know more about our current vacancies, kindly visit our website
