Job Purpose:                      The Finance Manager will coordinate and consolidate Group financial information and reporting to ensure the organisation is accountable for the income earned and resources utilized, ensuring that the information provided is accurate, relevant and timely.

Key Responsibilities:    

  • Prepare annual consolidated financial statements and notes in line with FRS 102/SORP for inclusion in the annual report
  • Oversee annual group audit including regular liaison with group auditors
  • Coordinate annual budget and budget revision processes for ROI Head office departments, and consolidate Group budget and budget revisions to tight deadlines
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and narrative reports
  • Maximise utilisation of financial operating software and reporting tools to ensure continuous improvement of analysis and reporting
  • Provide support and advice to other departments on finance related matters
  • Lead and manage staff in the Dublin home finance department (6 direct reports) and ensure cover across the department
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation
  • Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Provide support to the Finance Director and other senior management
  • Perform any other duties as required within the role

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • A recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA)
  • 5 years post qualification experience in a busy finance department with minimum 1 years management experience
  • Proven people management skills and experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel to overseas fields if required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A commitment and interest in Concern’s vision and mission

Desirable:

  • Experience working in overseas/multi-cultural environments
  • Previous experience in non-governmental organizations
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains
