Our client, a well known business in Crawley are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their accountancy team.
Description
Key Responsibilities include:
- Creating new vendors on the system.
- Checking purchase invoices and credit notes to purchase orders, and entering accordingly to computer system.
- Dealing appropriately with invoice queries.
- Preparation of monthly payment runs via Bank electronic payment systems.
- Raising small quantity of overseas cheque payments.
- Posting of supplier payments and reconciliation of such for all 3 currencies we trade in (GB£ US$ €).
- Checking and processing business expenses claims, posting and preparation of payments in 3 currencies.
- Preparation and completion of all necessary actions for the monthly completion of Intrastat Arrival reports, and dealing with any subsequent queries.
- Meticulous and regular filing of all relevant paperwork.
- Handling small quantities of petty cash transactions, recording manually and then to Navision.
- All duties must be rigorously and efficiently completed to daily, weekly and monthly deadlines. Full responsibility lies with the employee to achieve this.
Profile
The successful candidate must have:
- GCSE in Maths & English - grade C or above.
- Knowledge of VAT and EC reports.
- Must be meticulous, accurate & organised.
- Confident with good communication skills to liaise with customers, suppliers and staff at all levels.
- Must be highly computer literate.
