Management Accountant - Construction

The Role:
Our client is leading edge Developer and Construction Management company with a amazing amount of work ahead of them.

They are actively seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their Finance team. You will be working on the Development side of the business, working closely with one of the General Managers. The ideal candidate will be someone looking to take their Accounting career to the next level. Experience within the Construction Industry is ideal. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills along with a dynamic personality that can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Facilitating any tasks required to close out the month end process
• Overseeing and developing members of the business accounting team
• Preparing and reviewing monthly reconciliations, working with finance team to ensure all outstanding items are followed up and cleared on a timely basis.
• Ensuring all Accounting processes comply our clients Accounting standards
• Assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
• Examining operating costs and organisations' income and expenditure
• Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations
• High level of problem solving skills and resolution processes
• Strong ability with reports, documentation and written communication
• Provide services in Australian taxation, superannuation, business services and accounting
• Prepare financial statements, tax returns and activity statements
• Prepare BAS returns, reconciliations and other GST obligations for clients
• Be able to undertake independent research and communicate taxation and other matters

Skills and Experience:

• Degree qualified CA or CPA.
• Minimum 5 years experience, preferably within the Construction Industry
• Strong business process analytical and interpretation skills
• Proven ability in building and maintaining effective relationships with key internal stakeholders
• Experienced in implementing continuous improvement initiatives
• Willingness and ability to work in a demanding, constantly changing environment
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders with potentially conflicting priorities
• Ability to motivate and develop individuals to drive team performance and engagement
• Demonstrated problem solving and strategic thinking abilities
• Highly demonstrated MS Office skills
