Supervising Associate-Indirect Tax - Karachi

Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for researching tax issues, report writing, interpretation of relevant laws and assisting/guiding junior staff. The candidate must be proficient in communication skills (drafting and spoken)

Duties and Responsibilities

Specifically, the incumbent holding this position will be responsible for:

• Advising clients in respect of Indirect Taxation Laws, and other matters in the light of relevant statute, case laws, and industry practices.
• Independently taking care of the clients and advisory.
• Providing the clients with timely and accurate guidance on critical taxation issues.
• Ensuring timely compliance of statutory deadlines for filings and / or payments by the clients.
• Representing EY to clients in meetings.
• Representing clients in meetings with tax and other relevant government officials.

Requirements

Experience

• 1-2 years of relevant experience particularly in tax

Qualification

• CA Finalist or ACCA/MBA/ICMA qualified subject to relevant experience.

Skills

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Good grasp on the Law and interpretational skill with regards to the Ordinance.
• Research and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Time Management.
• Willingness to assume additional responsibility
• Ability to take initiative.
• Ability to work under pressure.
