Client Details

My client has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and have recently won a contract with another large retailer. Due to continued success, the business are upscaling structure at site level therefore this is an exciting time to join the business to support their next growth phase.

Description

The role of Financial Controller will interface with the operations, planning, procurement and site manufacturing teams, ensuring efficient, low cost manufacture of products. There will also be close liaison with the commercial teams to ensure that products can be manufactured on a commercial basis.

Key duties as Financial Controller include:

  • Ensuring financial controls are monitored and in place across all three sites
  • Reporting daily, weekly and monthly P&L & KPI's of each site into the Divisional FD including commentary to explain operational variances against budget/forecast and prior week
  • Support each Site Director in driving financial and operational performance
  • Attending site management meetings to gain an understanding of current operations whilst explaining latest results/financials to the team
  • Supporting, mentoring and training site finance functions (Management of 3 x Site Finance Managers)
  • Liaising with Central finance to ensure deadlines are achieved, building relationships and attending balance sheet reviews
  • Liaising with site budget holders, analyse spend by department and ensure tight control of budgets
    Constantly challenging costs and advising the GM on cost reductions, profit improvements
  • Attending budget / forecast reviews with the wider business

    • Profile

    To be considered for the role of Financial Controller, candidates must be fully qualified (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) and ideally have experience in food manufacturing at site level. Other sector backgrounds will be considered such as manufacturing, engineering and supply chain & logistics providing you can demonstrate you have operated at site level.

    This is a role where you'll be heavily exposed to the senior management team meaning your people skills need to be the best of the best. You'll be expected to manage upwards and not afraid to challenge the business and the senior management team as and when required.
