Description

The post-holder will provide Senior Finance Business Partner services to one of the Department's two Directors General and to the Budget Holders working to that Director General, building effective business relationships and using their specialist financial skills and expertise to provide support, advice and robust, but constructive, challenge to ensure the effective operation of the Department's systems of financial and budgetary control.

The post-holder will lead and manage two Finance Business Partners, ensuring that the team operated collaboratively and effectively to deliver a consistent and high quality business partnering service to their stakeholders.

Profile

As the successful post-holder will be an experienced, successful finance professional with a solid history of delivery.

You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels and provide expert advice on a range of financial matters, taking into account the needs of the business. This post is ideally suited to someone motivated to work collegiately to find solutions. A degree of creativity and innovation is required. While the post-holder is required to ensure that budget holders and others follow all relevant financial rules, this role will suit someone who helps find alternative approaches rather than dogmatically repeating the rulebook.

You will work well and flexibly within a team, be able to work independently, progressing matters within their remit sensibly and without supervision while keeping others informed of progress.
