To ensure that all aspects of Tax Compliance, Planning and Reporting are handled in a professional and timely manner. To support business colleagues to ensure that tax risk is assessed, measured and mitigated and that tax reliefs and opportunities are utilised fully where possible to optimise operational profitability.

Description

  • Develop and implement best practices for the management of corporate taxes by identifying, assessing and implementing tax optimisation opportunities
  • Preparation and review of taxation returns including corporation tax, indirect tax and any ad hoc returns such as stamp duty land tax and withholding tax.
  • Identify and follow-through on compliance opportunities and tax risk mitigation initiatives to achieve a sustainable low tax rate.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of the Tax Policy and monitor business risks to be covered.
  • Develop instructions about the handling of different tax issues, share them with business and other stakeholders, obtain their buy-in and make them part of the governance processes
  • Manage relationship with HMRC and deal with any other governmental departments.
  • Provide support in respect of new acquisitions and reorganisations
  • Liaise with external advisers for the provision of tax advice, as required.
  • Identify trends in tax laws that have a major impact on corporate taxes and indirect taxes and initiate and implement respective remediation measures
  • Lead, ensure and participate in internal tax reviews and commercial projects and work as a part of the Finance leadership team providing strategic direction to the finance team.

  • Profile

    • Be tax qualified through a recognised professional body (ACA, CTA or equivalent).
    • You will have a strong corporate tax background, with experience of tax compliance, reporting and advisory either in practice or in industry.

    • A sound knowledge and experience of Indirect tax is also advantageous.
    • Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity

    • You will have excellent written communication skills and be enthusiastic with the ability to work using you own initiative and with a questioning nature.
    • You will demonstrate strong business partnering skills, be articulate, with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

    Job Offer

    £65,000 - £75,000 + car allowance + 15% bonus + non contributory pension of 15% + private medical insurance
