Your Team:
Global Trade Finance (GTF) supports domestic and cross-border physical and financial flows that are normally within, between, or to CBA's geographies of presence: Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, UK and US. Trade Finance is a core specialist product for the Bank's corporate and institutional clients, providing solutions to access working capital, accelerate cash flow cycles, manage risk and improve overall corporate efficiency for shareholders. CBA aspires to be a top two Trade bank in institutional and corporate segments in Australia, and a top ten Trade bank in our selected APEA markets. GTF has 5 teams across 5 domestic and 5 international locations:

Your impact & contribution:
The Trade Solutions team is responsible for the on-boarding, servicing, operations and 'in-business' risk management of all Global Trade Finance client interactions, including business-critical Sanctions, Trade-based money laundering, AML and financial crime safeguards.
The purpose of the role is to ensure the Trade Solutions Team delivers on value-adding activities for GTF's clients, improving capability to grow and scale efficiencies within key risk management and compliance frameworks.
Your responsibilities:
Reporting to the Managing Director, Global Trade Finance you will lead the Trade Solutions Leadership team, and your role will be responsible for Trade Solutions teams domestically and in international locations. You will be a core member of the Global Trade Finance Leadership team, and collaborate on growth opportunities, alignment of line of business initiatives and ensure success of the business. Specifically in this role you will;
Manage the end-to-end execution of the Trade and Supply Chain finance client experience including on-boarding, training and servicing of for new and existing clients in a consistent manner, globally.
Serve as the principal point of contact for matters relating to Trade Solutions delivery, including transaction execution and escalation.
Ensure adherence to risk and controls frameworks, including embedding a strong risk awareness and compliance culture across Trade Solutions teams. This extends to operating in an environment of greater awareness and uplift in governance and controls to run a risk-aware operations, compliant with all regulatory obligations within GTF's domestic and international operations.
Drive and implement a 'client-first' culture to meet broader client-needs and deepen trade wallet share from the existing client base (including adjacent products within IB&M e.g. hedging, FX, payments products, etc.), while delivering superior customer service by driving operational performance, (meeting SLAs, reducing cost, driving operational efficiency and reducing operational risks).
Lead, develop, and motivate Trade Solutions staff globally, help to grow skills and capabilities and to meet and exceed current and future needs of the business. This includes adequately planning and executing resourcing plans, volume forecasts and well-being programs to manage the needs of team and clients.
Ensure frameworks and controls are in place and are effective in ensuring the GTF business adheres to the Group's governance policies and standards, and take corrective action when non-compliance is identified.
Take ownership of any Policy and Procedure assigned to this role and ensure on-going maintenance.
Experience and qualifications:
Our ideal candidate is an astute people leader with extensive experience and knowledge in global trade finance, global operations & banking with exposure across product, operations, and client management. You will have
Proven experience in leading a large multi-functional / multi- jurisdictional team;
Proven experience in setting organisational direction, communicating and implementing overall strategic goals;
Sound working knowledge of traditional trade such as L/Cs, collections, guarantees, import/export finance, Supply Chain Finance and Structured Trade Finance and developments in the emerging trade space, specifically technology developments;
Understanding of the key jurisdictional differences across the key trade markets;
Excellent stakeholder engagement with frontline business partners, Trade sales specialists, Trade Product Management, Business Management, Platforms, Risk, Compliance, Credit, Operations, IT and HR.
Understanding of Credit and Operational Risks specifically relating to Trade Finance and International Payments;
Deal experience including direct dealings with clients and the ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels;
Strong general business acumen. Knowledge of key strategic drivers, performance metrics and financial indicators.
