An opportunity exists for a motivated and engaging individual to join our Regulatory Services Team.
WHO ARE YOU?
Here at The Hills Shire Council we are looking for someone who has a CAN DO attitude, takes initiative and works collaboratively with their team.
ABOUT THE POSITION
You will carry out inspections and investigate complaints of properties in regard to unauthorised development and compliance with Council's development controls, conditions and other statutory requirements relevant to private property, processing of Building Certificate applications in relation to the requirements of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and/or the Building Code of Australia and Swimming Pool Compliance Certificate applications under the Swimming Pools Act 1992 and Regulations 2008. You will also be required to prepare reports and attend Court when authorised and/or as required. You will also need to have excellent customer service skills in regards to inspections, complaints and other regulatory services to the community.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma/Degree qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent or appropriate tertiary qualifications or experience in an enforcement role
Understanding of the Planning and Certification system in NSW
Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards.
Understanding & ability to interpret Local Government Act, Environmental Planning & Assessment Act, Act, Protection of the Environment Operations Act and all legislation, practices & Standards
Experience in working in an environment of demanding workloads and time constraints
Permanent Full-time role, we are seeking applications from varying levels of experience.

Salary Range - $72,712 to $87,073 pa commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience plus Superannuation & leaseback vehicle.
