Whyalla Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Librarian to enhance our library digital platforms and local & family history services as we start our journey towards a benchmark library facility - the envy of the library world.

Accountability Statement:
The City Librarian will take a proactive role in promoting the library services and work collaboratively to engage with the community and Council stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes aligned with Council's Strategic Plan.
Key Role Responsibilities Include:

Plan, develop, maintain and continue to enhance library digital platforms
Plan, development and maintain the Library as a central community digital hub
Plan, implement and monitor library programs/policies to meet the varied needs of the Whyalla community
Train, coach and mentor team members
Develop and manage the Library budget within delegated authority following financial control procedures

Aligned to Demonstrated Experience, the successful incumbent will have:

Degree or post graduate qualification in Library and Information Management or equivalent
Minimum of three years' experience in a public Librarian role with supervisory requirements
Current driver's licence
Sound knowledge and understanding of technology (particularly digital) and its application in a library environment
Demonstrated experience in managing financial budgets
Police clearance and potential for a clearance for working with children and vulnerable people

Salary for the position is in the range of Level 5/6 under the SA Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council's Enterprise Agreement commencing at $82,000.
