Financial Controller - Technology Start-Up

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a new technology start-up in central London.

My client is a London based technology start-up business formed with significant parent company backing from an instantly recognisable global engineering firm.

Description

As the Financial Controller you will be the second person in finance and support the CFO closely. You will be tasked with designing processes, leading on reporting and analysis, as well as supporting strategy. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing monthly and annual reporting processes with a focus on automation where possible;

• Develop internal controls procedures around areas such as expenses etc.;

• Transactional finance management including AP/AR/CC responsibilities;

• Ownership of the monthly reporting with responsibility for producing accompanying commentary;

• Lead the development of the management information pack with KPI analysis and performance reporting;

• Act as the key point of contact for the year-end audit;

• Supporting the CFO on ad hoc projects and analysis as required.

Profile

As a strong applicant for this Financial Controller position you will:

• Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong academic background;

• Demonstrate SME/start-up experience with a background in process and controls implementation;

• Be comfortable with transactional finance and being responsible for invoicing, payments, credit control, etc.;

• Show the ability to lead monthly and annual reporting processes;

• Possess strong commercial acumen and analytical skills to assist with board reporting and adding value to the business;

• Be comfortable engaging with senior management and budget holders, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.

Job Offer

The offer to the successful candidate will be between £60,000-£70,000 depending on experience plus benefits.
