About the opportunity
At WesTrac we strive to be the leading training centre of excellence for equipment. Our state of the art institute at Newcastle is a private Registered Training Organisation which provides national training in the heavy industry. WesTrac has an opportunity for energetic and results driven Technical Trainer and Assessor - Mobile Plant to join our growing training team. The role is responsible for the delivery and review of educational and technical training aligned to WesTrac's business strategy. As a Technical Trainer you will contribute to the continuous improvement of course curriculum and deliver material in accordance with workplace safety and compliance standards. Knowledgeable with Mobile Plant equipment, you will be able to educate a broad range of people including from pre-trade and post-trade employees as well as external customers. You will be required to travel to various sites to deliver training.
About you
As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:
Qualifications in Mobile Plant Technology and /or Automotive Electrical Technology
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) as a minimum
At least 12 months experience in a training and assessor role
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan, manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines
Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal with the ability to influence and inspire groups of people with a passion for transferring knowledge and skills
Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously
Previous heavy machinery experience or exposure to Caterpillar products is desirable
Intermediate computer literacy skills
Ability and willingness to travel
A demonstrated commitment to safety and the environment
You will possess a professional and proactive approach to your work. As a strong communicator and influencer you will have the ability to work effectively with all levels of the business and will be adept in ensuring customer satisfaction during the learning experience.
