Director Workplace Relations, Human Resources
The Director, Workplace Relations, Monash HR provides leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of workplace relations strategies, frameworks, services and solutions to enable and support the University's strategic objectives, vision and direction.
The Director Workplace Relations provides support and strategic expert advice to senior management and key stakeholders on industrial and workplace relations matters affecting staff of the University, as well as leading the negotiation and implementation of Enterprise Agreements.
The Director, Workplace Relations manages the Workplace Relations branch. The branch contributes to industrial harmony and equity in the workplace by providing strategic advice to supervisors and managers on the interpretation of awards and industrial and employee agreements, as well as policy information, advice, and assistance with all industrial and employee relations issues. This includes offering consultancy services to HR Business Partners and key University leaders to assist them in managing their workforce issues.
Reporting line
The position reports to the Chief HR Officer, Monash HR, who provides broad supervision.
Supervisory responsibilities
This position provides direct supervision to 6 staff members and oversees a team of approximately 23 team members.
Financial Delegation
Yes, in accordance with the University delegations schedule.
Budget Responsibilities
Manages a staffing budget of $2.6 M (approximately)
