The Global Revenue Recognition Team ensures the consistent application of Oracle's Corporate Revenue Recognition Policies globally through interaction with Oracle executives in all aspects of the business including Cloud, Software License, Hardware, Support, Consulting, and other services contracts including education, on demand, advanced customer services, and Advanced Customer Support. As an important member of this highly regarded team and a trusted adviser, you will be considered as a world leader in this field. You will be a primary contact for the sales, business practises and finance teams across Asia Pacific. This is a fast paced position in which you will work closely with regional and functional leaders ensuring Oracles business practises are adhered to and that revenue is recognised appropriately. Brief Description The Revenue Recognition group ensures that revenue is recognized in accordance with Corporate Policies and US Accounting standards. Detailed Description Reporting to the Vice President JAPAC Revenue Recognition, you will lead a team of direct reports, and work within the broader JAPAC Revenue Recognition team, to achieve the short/medium and long-term plans of the Revenue Recognition organization. Review high value, complex deals and ensure non-standard terms are understood and considered in the determination of revenue recognized in the quarter. Responsible for recruitment, performance management, conducting appraisals, managing budgets, and identifying training and development needs of their direct reports and the wider team. Drive a motivated and high performing team and providing adequate recognition when appropriate. Lead and assist in special projects as assigned Support Oracles adoption of ASC 606 /IFRS 15 Work closely and develop relationships with various cross-functional Business Partners and stakeholders within the APAC and Global Revenue Recognition organization and more broadly across all Sales, Sales Support and Financial Control organizations, to help resolve related revenue recognition inquiries. Drive automation and improvement of processes and procedures. Develop relationships with our external auditors to endure all quarterly audit requirements are met on a timely basis. Personal Skills Job duties are varied and complex with the need to utilizing experience and independent judgment. Strong analytical, prioritization and communication skills in partnering with senior line-of-business leaders. Big 4 experience and qualified accounts (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) is preferred; BA/ BS degree in Accounting or related emphasis with at least10years of accounting experience; including eitherpublic accounting or software and/or hardware revenue recognition experience; Minimum of 7 years of experience in leadership and managerial positions and a strong team player. Ability to build strong relationships, able to build credibility and respect with individuals at all levels of the organisation; Able to lead projects across multiple organisations and geographies; Ability to interpret, present and explain complex accounting issues to various internal business contacts. Ability to work under pressure and get the job done in a timely manner Ability to react and adapt as the business model continues to change Language skills are preferred but not essential Strong presentation skills Additional Details Responsibilities Educate the sales, legal, business practices, contracts administration and finance organizations on software and hardware accounting requirements and internal corporate policies. Review complex revenue recognition issues within potential sales contracts and advise on the resulting accounting treatment, suggesting alternative contractual structures where appropriate. Perform second review of signed contracts reviewed by Revenue Recognition Analysts for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and with Oracles Revenue Recognition and Corporate policies, adjusting the amount of revenue recognized as necessary.
