Finance Officer Victoria Housing Estates Salary: NJC Pay Scale S5 - S6 £20,456 - £24,174 pa Temporary (initial 6 month contract) - 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join Victoria Housing Estates (VHE), a housing charity based in Holywood, on a temporary basis. VHE is an innovative and ambitious organisation currently working towards strengthening its position as a Social Housing provider in Northern Ireland during a time of change. Our Mission is to provide affordable, decent homes and responsive housing services for people in housing need by investing in people, homes and neighbourhoods. We have developed a new and ambitious Strategy ‘Putting Things Right 2017-2020' built on identified needs, and with targets to offer new and improved services, invest in our existing homes and improve peoples' lives. Due to a recent restructure, and under the leadership of a new Board of Trustees, this new position represents an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about customer service and has experience of working within a finance environment, preferable within a third sector organisation. The Role We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer, or a Finance Assistant, to join us on a temporary basis to support a busy finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a key role and the successful candidate will ideally ‘hit the ground running'. The successful applicant will be part of a small Finance team and will be responsible for maintaining and updating financial systems and processes including sales and purchase ledgers, credit card payments, invoicing and reconciliations. In addition, they will be responsible for assisting with debt management procedures and ensuring compliance with Financial Regulations. It is essential that you are able to demonstrate 2 years' experience in an all-round finance role as well as experience of working within a reporting environment with an ability to highlight achievements and concerns.
